About
The City of Garland has established a Drainage Improvement District program to assist residential and commercial property owners who are experiencing property damage due to erosion from creeks or other bodies of water within the City.
After a representative from the Engineering Department has visited the site and reviewed the erosion damage, estimates will be prepared for construction costs of an erosion wall or another appropriate structure to prevent further erosion damage and restore the stream bank to its previous location. These estimates will be delivered to the property owner, who can then decide if they want to move forward with the project or not.
The City of Garland will provide financial assistance to reduce the financial impact of these projects to the property owner. The City will pay for one-half of the project construction costs for residential properties, and one-third of the costs for commercial properties.
